Efforts by plaintiffs attorneys to pin liability on the Salvation Army over a fatal 2013 building collapse are all part of an elaborate “shell game,” the organization’s attorney told the jury Wednesday on what is expected to be the last day in the liability phase of the more than four-week-old civil trial.

In making closing arguments for the Salvation Army, Rawle & Henderson attorney Jack Snyder repeatedly accused the plaintiffs’ attorneys of “hiding the ball” when they allegedly took emails out of context and attempted to sidestep issues regarding the conduct of the contractor and excavator who were both jailed in connection with the deadly collapse.
