A former Pittsburgh state court administrator was named the new clerk of courts for the Philadelphia-headquartered U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
The court on Wednesday announced Kate Barkman, previously the director of the Department of Court Records of Allegheny County, as the successor to interim clerk Lucy V. Chin. Barkman was sworn in on Jan. 27. Chin took over in July after the retirement of Michael Kunz, the longest serving clerk in federal judicial history.
