Judicial races in Pennsylvania are scheduled for elections in 2017 and there is also an appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. What is the most important quality needed for a judicial officer and what should be looked for?
There have been a number of articles written by me on what is needed for a judicial officer. Obviously, trial experience and practicing law for at least 15 or 20 years and good general legal knowledge are important. But the most important quality is that the potential judge or justice doesn’t have any kind of political agenda or issue agenda. What is necessary is someone to be fair and knowledgeable with the ability to bring wisdom.
