Even though former Congressman Chaka Fattah just settled into his federal prison cell, the prosecutors who tried his corruption case want to add more time to his 10-year stay.

On Monday morning, prosecutors filed papers notifying the court that they intend to appeal U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s dismissal of bank fraud and false statement charges against Fattah and his co-defendant, former Philadelphia Deputy Mayor Herbert Vederman, who held office in Ed Rendell’s administration.
