A split Commonwealth Court panel has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit claiming that Delaware County was responsible for a woman’s slip and fall in the County Recorder of Deeds Office.

The court held 2-1 that the county and the deeds office were immune from suit, further ruling that the “real property exception” did not apply in Ronhilde J. Gillingham’s case. Gillingham sued after tripping on computer cables in the deeds office.
