Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney’s proposed 2018 fiscal year budget includes a slight increase for the city’s justice system.

The Kenney administration released its proposed $4.38 billion budget March 3, allocating $220 million for the First Judicial District, District Attorney’s Office, Philadelphia Defenders’ Association and Sheriff’s Office. The amount is a nearly 4 percent increase over the $212 million the city set aside for the same services in the 2017 budget.
