Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams pleaded not guilty in federal court Wednesday to charges that he exchanged political favors for expensive gifts, and defrauded a nursing home by taking a relative’s Social Security and pension money.

Williams’ plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Richard A. Lloret of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania set a defiant tone as he continues to ignore mounting calls for his resignation.
