An Allegheny County jury has returned a $28 million verdict in a case stemming from a fatal drunken-driving accident. The verdict included $10 million in punitive damages.

The jury returned the verdict Friday in Trail v. Lesko after a trial before Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alan D. Hertzberg. According to information compiled by Legal sister publication PaLaw, the verdict is the fourth highest in the county in the last two decades.
