The issue of funding legal services for the poor may once again put the U.S. Supreme Court in the position of voiding a decision of the Florida Supreme Court.

Last June, Florida’s high court gave a boost to a Florida Bar Foundation program to ease the crisis in funding for indigent legal services. But some observers expect the U.S. Supreme Court to decide the fate of all such programs around the country. Based on its past record, the justices might well deal them a fatal blow.
