Albert F. Sabo, a retired Common Pleas judge best known for presiding over the 1982 trial of Mumia Abu-Jamal died last week of heart failure. He was 81.

Sabo, who also presided over the 1988 trial of Philadelphia mob boss Nicodemo “Little Nicky” Scarfo, retired from the bench in 1998.
