Each year the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals takes on the challenge of seeking candidates for the Joan Weldon Memorial Scholarship. This award honors one of the great leaders of our association and is presented to a paralegal student who is exemplary in his or her studies and who possesses outstanding academic and other achievements.

Joan Weldon was a former president of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals as well as a tireless worker on behalf of the association and the profession. She was also largely responsible for building the excellent relationship between the association and the Philadelphia Bar Association. The scholarship program was established 12 years ago under her presidency.
