Pennsylvania professionals, including lawyers, beware: A New Jersey judge says you can be dragged into court here even if you have no physical presence or direct connection to the state.

Essex County Superior Court Judge Edith Payne ruled on Feb. 21 that New Jersey’s courts have jurisdiction over two Pennsylvania law firms being sued here by a New Jersey company over their conduct in a Pennsylvania case.
