Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Allan H. Gordon pledged at last week’s Board of Governors meeting to continue the battle against New Jersey’s bona fide office rule.
Gordon told the board that while he had testified before two New Jersey committees during the past several weeks, the New Jersey bar still seemed to be holding fast to its rule, which requires attorneys practicing in New Jersey to have an office in the state “where clients are met, files are kept, the telephone is answered, mail is received, and the attorney [or his agent] can be reached in person and by telephone during normal business hours.”
