A Bucks County newspaper has agreed to pay $515,000 to settle a libel suit filed by attorney Neil A. Morris over an article that he said falsely implicated him in a political corruption scandal when, in fact, the newspaper knew it was Morris who blew the whistle on the scandal.

The suit, Morris v. Courier Times Inc., was scheduled to go to trial in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Feb. 22.
