City leaders weighed in on Philadelphia’s financial woes for the Philadelphia Bar Association on Friday, discussing the lagging development of Center City’s professional sector and the main reasons for its sluggish growth: the onerous city wage tax and the burgeoning bad reputation of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Bar association section and committee chairs heard from a panel consisting of Philadelphia City Councilman Michael A. Nutter, Chamber of Commerce Chair Judith M. von Seldeneck and Center City District Executive Director Paul R. Levy. The panel answered questions posed by Joseph C. Bright Jr., a partner at Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen, and John B. Wright II, a partner at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll.
