After eight years of managing Pepper Hamilton, James Murray has decided to step down as the firm’s executive partner and return to practicing law full time. On Jan. 1, 2003, Murray is scheduled to be replaced by litigator Robert E. Heideck, a member of the firm’s executive committee and the partner in charge of the Philadelphia office.
Murray said the firm made the announcement now so the two could have a sufficient transition period. Murray is planning to return to the active practice of law, and Heideck must shift from practicing law into full-time management. Though there is no definitive term of service, Heideck said he gave the partnership a three-year commitment.
