Samuel E. Klein, widely regarded as one of the region’s premier First Amendment litigators, died suddenly at his Chestnut Hill home Monday. He was 55.
Mr. Klein, a Dechert partner since joining the firm in 1992, was described Monday as a champion of the First Amendment and vigilant defender of the free press. He represented some of the nation’s most respected news organizations — ABC, CBS, Fox, Time-Warner and Philadelphia Newspapers Inc. — in all types of media litigation, including defamation and invasion of privacy.
