Superior Court Judge Maureen Lally-Green has violated the judicial ethics code by signing and sending a letter to Duquesne University School of Law alumni requesting campaign donations.
Canon 7 of the Pennsylvania Rules of Court forbids a judge or candidate for a judgeship to directly solicit funding. Others, such as a campaign committee, can raise money or seek donations on a judicial candidate’s behalf, but candidates cannot ask for money themselves.
