In the wake of the $68 million verdict they won in an antitrust suit against 3M, lawyers for LePage’s Inc. are asking a federal judge to impose a strict injunction against the office supply giant to ensure that it doesn’t engage in any future illegal attempts to preserve its monopoly power in the market for transparent tape.

“Injunctive relief is necessary to stop 3M from engaging in the anticompetitive practices that the jury found caused LePage’s to suffer antitrust injury,” attorneys Barbara W. Mather, Elizabeth A. Duffy and Chapin C. Cody wrote in a brief joined by LePage’s co-counsel Mark W. Ryan and Kerry Lynn Edwards of Mayer Brown & Platt in Washington and solo practitioner Peter Hearn.
