In its latest effort to increase its services for Asia-based clients, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius announced Monday its addition of Nancy Yamaguchi as a corporate and technology transactions partner in San Francisco.

Yamaguchi joins the Am Law 100 firm from her role as a partner and global head of technology at Withers Bergman, a firm she joined in 2014 from San Jose, California-based Hoge Fenton Jones & Appel. Yamaguchi's practice focuses on transactions involving Japanese companies.

Morgan Lewis' addition earlier this year of a 40-strong team in Hong Kong from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe led by the latter's global head of capital markets Edwin Luk and global co-head of private equity Maurice Hoo were cited by Yamaguchi as a major factor in her decision to join the firm. Last month Morgan Lewis also recruited a four-lawyer team in Shanghai from Simmons & Simmons led by employment partner K. Lesli Ligorner, although corporate partner Duan Min in Beijing decamped for leading local firm Han Kun Law Offices.
