SAN FRANCISCO — This is likely how Luke Brugnara's legal saga ends.

The fallen real estate tycoon whose courtroom antics and dramatic escape from custody riveted the Bay Area legal community lost out on his bid to overturn his conviction on six felony charges on Tuesday.

In a 31-page decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit turned back all the arguments his court-appointed lawyer Dena Young made in asking for a new trial.
