SAN FRANCISCO — One of the lead prosecutors in the case against Pacific Gas & Electric Co. over the 2010 San Bruno explosion has joined litigation boutique Kobre & Kim as the first member of its government enforcement defense team on the West Coast.

Hartley West, a 15-year veteran of the Northern District of California’s U.S. attorney’s office, started her new position at the San Francisco office of Kobre & Kim on Tuesday. The firm, founded in 2003 by a pair of former New York federal prosecutors, made its debut this year on the Am Law 200, a list of the nation’s largest law firms measured by revenue.
