SAN FRANCISCO — Lawyers representing anti-abortion activist David Daleiden have asked U.S. District Judge William Orrick III to recuse himself in a case where he has barred the release of hidden-camera videos recorded at two National Abortion Federation annual conferences.

According to an affidavit filed in the case by Daleiden late Wednesday, Orrick sat on the board of a nonprofit organization which has housed a Planned Parenthood clinic at its facilities. Daleiden and his lawyers also claim that Orrick’s wife Caroline has posted public comments on Facebook, where her profile has featured a picture of her and the judge supporting Planned Parenthood.
