Two weeks after welcoming a six-lawyer team from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Morrison & Foerster has returned to its Bay Area-based rival for life sciences licensing attorney Scott Carter, who re-joins his former colleagues as of counsel in San Francisco.

Carter's move to MoFo follows the group of intellectual property litigators led by partners Stefani Shanberg and Jennifer Schmidt, who joined the firm's San Francisco headquarters in late May.

A robust patent litigation team was one of the factors that attracted Carter to MoFo, he said Thursday. The strength of the firm's technology prosecution and corporate practices also complemented his work. And there was also a personal connection.
