The court of appeals reversed a district court order and remanded. The court held that a stipulated agreement for an attorney's debarment needed to be reconsidered in light of Golden v. California Emergency Physicians Medical Group, 782 F.3d 1083 (9th Cir. 2015).

Attorney Michael Mandelbrot represented asbestos claimants. In that capacity, he frequently submitted claims to asbestos trusts. The J.T. Thorpe, Thorpe Insulation, and Western Trusts moved to debar Mandelbrot, alleging he had engaged in a pattern of submitting unreliable evidence. Mandelbrot agreed to settle. He stipulated that the Trusts had acted reasonably in seeking to debar him and agreed to be permanently barred from submitting claims to the Trusts.
