Tesla Inc. alum Phuong Phillips stepped into the role of chief legal officer at Zynga Inc. this week.

Phillips will oversee all legal and government affairs for the San Francisco-based online gaming company, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

She is replacing Devang Shah, the company's former general counsel, who left Zynga in April after seven years with the company, according to his LinkedIn profile. Shah began as senior corporate counsel in 2010 and was promoted twice before being named GC in 2013.
