After the events that have rocked Silicon Valley this year, are you more or less hopeful about the prospects for women in the tech industry?

This past year, the disparate treatment of women across all industries, not just tech, has received more attention, and more women—as well as men—seem focused on supporting and providing opportunities to women. In-house counsel have also played a vital role in helping to create change, as they have the ability to hold law firms accountable to ensure that diverse lawyers are working on their matters. At Jenner & Block, we are actively involved in a number of partnering programs with in-house counsel in this respect. While there is still a lot of ground to cover and hidden biases to overcome, it is for these reasons that I am more hopeful for women in tech and other industries.
