Court: Travelers Insurance Doesn't Have to Pay Defense Fees for Opioid Manufacturer
In a 3-0 California Court of Appeal ruling, Travelers gets off the hook in having to defend Watson Pharmaceuticals, an opioid manufacturer, with whom it had an insurance policy.

A California state appellate court has found that Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America doesn't have to pay to defend an opioid maker that was sued by two California counties and the city of Chicago, handing the insurer its second major court victory in 15 months.
In upholding a lower court ruling, the state's Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division Three ruled 3-0 Monday that Hartford, Connecticut-based Travelers does not have a duty to defend or indemnify Watson Pharmaceuticals.
