Three attorneys joined Buchalter's intellectual property practice. Shareholder J. Rick Tache and senior counsels Erikson Squier and Roger Scott will join the firm's Orange County office. Tache will serve as co-chair of the Buchalter's firmwide patent litigation group.
Silicon Valley Business Journal awarded Paul Davis the 2018 Bay Area Corporate Counsel Winner. Davis is general counsel and corporate secretary of Xperi, and previously served as general counsel at Tessera Technologies.
RG/2 Claims Administration LLC brought on Dominique Fite as vice president of business development and client relations. Fite focuses on client relations initiatives regarding legal claims and class action administration matters. She is based in San Diego.
Elliot Gordon joined JAMS as mediator and arbitrator in Los Angeles. Previously, Gordon had an ADR practice and also served as in-house counsel.
Nixon Peabody promoted three attorneys to partner in California: Ellie Altshuler and Erik Birkeneder in Los Angeles and Alison Torbitt in San Francisco. Altshuler and Birkeneder focus on intellectual property counseling and Torbitt's practice focuses on energy and environmental issues.
Boutique firm Russ August & Kabat brought on entertainment lawyers Stanton “Larry” Stein, Bennett Bigman and Ashley Yeargan. Also joining the firm is senior associate Diana Sanders. The firm is based in Los Angeles.
Wilson Turner Kosmo promoted Carolina Bravo-Karimi and Emily Fox to partners in San Diego. Bravo-Karimi is part of the employment law practice and Fox is part of the labor and employment practice.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
