Oren Leib joined LexInsight as vice president of growth and partnership. His experience focuses on innovative product solutions and new and emerging client use cases and trends across the legal sector. At LexInsight, Leib's focus will be on sales strategy. He previously worked at Thomson Reuters, Axiom, and LawGeex.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips brought on David Smith as a partner in its environmental and natural resources group. Smith's experience focuses on land use, entitlement and regulatory issues at the federal, state, regional, and local levels. He previously worked as in-house counsel at real estate developer DMB, and most recently was partner at Stice & Block.

Hunton Andrews Kurth promoted Samuel Brown to partner in the administrative law group. Brown is a former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency attorney and advises clients on compliance, government investigations and enforcement actions. He is based in the San Francisco office.

Charles Dick joined the JAMS Resolution Center as an arbitrator, mediator and special master. He will be based in the San Diego office, and will focus on resolving antitrust and competition law, business, commercial, employment, personal injury, professional liability and securities disputes.

Jeffrey Joy joined the Portland and Orange County offices of K&L Gates as partner. Joy joined as partner in the private clients, trusts, and estates practice, and will focus on income tax and estate planning matters. He previously was partner at Greenberg Traurig.

David Fermino started his tenure as chair of the Judicial Nominees Evaluation commission for the State Bar of California. Fermino had been a member of the commission for four years and previously served as vice chair in 2017. He is a partner at Kasowitz Benson Torres and focuses his practice on white-collar criminal defense.
