Five attorneys have joined the energy and natural resources practice at Buchalter. Shareholders Evelyn Kahl, Michael Alcantar and Nora Sheriff, of counsel Donald Brookhyser and attorney Katherine “Katy” Morsony join the San Francisco office. All five attorneys previously worked at Alcantar & Kahl.

Retired Judge Jay Gandhi joined JAMS as mediator, arbitrator, special master and case evaluator. Gandhi will be based in the Los Angeles office and previously served eight years as U.S. magistrate judge for the Central District of California.

King & Spalding brought on Daniel Lungren as senior counsel. Lungren is a former U.S. congressman and California state attorney general, and splits his time between the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., offices. He will be part of the firm's government matters group.

Ballard Spahr brought on Marcos Sasso in its consumer financial services group. Sasso previously was at the firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan and focuses his practice on class actions, regulatory enforcement proceeds and complex litigation and arbitration matters. He will be based in the Los Angeles office.

Annie Wu joined The Veen Firm in the San Francisco office. Wu has represented the plaintiff and defense side in civil litigation matters, and previously practiced at Alexander Law Group.
