Daphne Frydman Promoted to Top Legal Role at Oakland Investment Manager
Daphne Frydman, the new GC at USCF, has over 17 years of experience counseling companies in the financial services industry.

United States Commodity Funds LLC (USCF), an investment management company in Oakland, California, has promoted Daphne Frydman from the role of deputy general counsel to general counsel, the company announced Tuesday.
Frydman is taking over the role for Carolyn Yu who is now serving as general counsel for USCF's parent company, Concierge Technologies. Yu will continue as USCF's chief compliance officer.
“I'm excited for this new phase of my career with USCF. I feel lucky to work with such a great team of people,” Frydman said in an email to Corporate Counsel, an affiliate of The Recorder. “I look forward to leveraging my deep knowledge of USCF and the industry to work on expanding our innovative lineup of exchange-traded funds, exchange-traded products and mutual funds in the commodities and alternatives space.”
USCF specializes in exchange-traded products (ETP) and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It currently manages over $3 billion in assets.
In the announcement of her hire, USCF president and CEO John Love described Frydman as a “trusted adviser and exceptional counsel over the past two years.”
“She has also been a part of the extended USCF family going all the way back to the firm's roots. Her expertise will continue to be integral to our ongoing success,” Love said. “I look forward to working with her in this new and well-deserved role.”
A graduate of Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, Frydman has deep roots counseling companies in financial services. According to her LinkedIn profile, she formerly worked in the law firm world for Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan, which later became Eversheds Sutherland. During her time with the firm in Washington, D.C., she worked on finance and capital markets, derivatives regulation, securities and mergers and acquisitions.
In 2016, she moved in-house, becoming deputy GC at USCF.
