Last month, Corporate Counsel, an affiliate of The Recorder, named PayPal general counsel Wanji Walcott GC of the year, and published a profile of the in-house leader. Pentland's move to PayPal coincided with the company's split from eBay, a transition she helped direct and finalize. Now, she's responsible for the company's corporate affairs initiatives, including moves to boost diversity and inclusion. She oversees PayPal's regulatory compliance, communications, government relations and more. In the video below, Spiezio speaks with Pentland about how she juggles many aspects of her job, the dynamics of the GC/CLO relationship and her advice for business-focused in-house leaders.
