Venable brought on Shane Brun to its intellectual property practice in the San Francisco office. Brun represents companies in patent litigation and other intellectual property matters. Previously, he was a partner at Goodwin Procter.

The California Appellate Law Group has brought on two attorneys: Greg Wolff in the San Francisco office and Claudia Ribet in the Los Angeles office. Wolff was previously working at the California Supreme Court and Ribet was previously at Ribet & Silver.

Fenwick & West promoted three Bay Area attorneys to partner: Ran Ben-Tzur and Bomi Lee in the corporate practice and Kevin Kabler in the intellectual property office. Kabler and Lee are in the San Francisco office and Ben-Tzur are based in the Mountain View office.

Latham & Watkins has promoted six California attorneys to partner: Ted Dillman, Brent Epstein and Drew Levin in Los Angeles; Gavin Masuda and Nicole Valco in San Francisco; and Mark Bekheit in Silicon Valley. Seven attorneys were also promoted to counsel: Lauren Paull, Kristen Tuey and Jennifer Yoo in Los Angeles; Shawn Cobb and Loring Veenstra in San Diego; Jason Daniels in San Francisco; and Steven Green in Silicon Valley.

Michael McNaughton has been appointed to the San Francisco Superior Court. McNaughton, a Democrat, is a partner at Hanson Bridgett in the San Francisco office. He will be filling the vacancy of Judge Donald Mitchell, who is retiring.

Ropes & Gray promoted three attorneys to partner in California: Melissa Bender, Minh-Chau Le and Andrew Radsch. Bender advises hedge funds and private funds, Le represents private equity funds, and Radsch focuses on intellectual property litigation. All three attorneys split time between the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.
