John Chiang joined Ideal Legal Group as of counsel in the Los Angeles office. Chiang previously served as treasurer for the state of California for the last five years, and as controller from 2007 to 2015. He will be based in Los Angeles.
Alyssa Graf joined labor and employment firm Fisher & Phillips as an associate. Graf advises clients on employment litigation and general employment and compliance issues. Previously, she was at WFBM. She will be based in San Francisco.
Perkins Coie brought on Carmarin Madigan as partner in the real estate and land use practice in San Francisco. Madigan advises clients on acquisitions and dispositions, leasing and land use entitlements and environmental permits. Previously, she was partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
Keenan McCullough joined Spaulding McCullough & Tansil as a corporate attorney. McCullough's practice focuses on business transactions, contracts, real estate, entity formation, corporate governance and general, corporate partnership and limited liability company matters. Previously, McCullough was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Blank Rome hired Taylor Morosco as an associate in the labor and employment group. Morosco was an assistant attorney general for the Attorney General's Office for the District of Columbia. She will be based in the Los Angeles office.
Venable brought on Matthew Portnoff as partner in the corporate and business transactions tax practice groups. Portnoff's practice focuses on federal, state and local tax matters. Previously, he was partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. He will be based in Los Angeles.
Marika Rothfeld joined Miller Starr Regalia as an associate in the litigation practice. Previously, Rothfeld worked as a law clerk at Bay Area Legal Aid in Napa. She will be based in the Walnut Creek office.
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton promoted 11 attorneys to partner in California: Hector Agdeppa, Jennifer Chavez, John Golembesky, Whitney Hodges and Adam Shipley in San Diego; Greg Berk and Justin Hepworth in Orange County; Erinn Contreras and Rachel Tarko Hudson in San Francisco; Siraj Husain in Palo Alto; and Jonathan Moss in Los Angeles.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Crown Castle International, a Pennsylvania company providing shared communications infrastructure, has turned to Luke D. Wolf of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani to fend off a pending breach-of-contract lawsuit. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
