Alvarez & Marsal brought on Elizabeth Dean as managing director in its disputes and investigations group. Her experience focuses on forensic accounting, business consulting and valuation services. Previously, she was a vice president at TM Financial Forensics. She will be based in San Francisco.
Maureen Duffy joined Baker McKenzie as counsel in the employment and compensation practice in San Francisco. Her experience includes providing counsel to various levels of management on labor and employment matters. She was previously counsel at Jackson Lewis.
Polsinelli brought on Jason Putnam Gordon as a shareholder in the venture capital and emerging growth companies practice. Gordon represents startups, emerging growth and middle-market companies, mergers and acquisitions, and technology transactions. He will be based in San Francisco.
Nellie Torres Klein joined the Law Offices of Alan Ellis as counsel in San Francisco. Previously, Klein was senior counsel with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and brings more than 20 years of prison litigation experience to the firm. She will be based in San Francisco.
Alston & Bird brought on Yuri Mikulka as a partner in the intellectual property practice. Previously, she was at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. She represents start-ups as well as Fortune 100 companies. She is based in Los Angeles.
Pircher, Nichols & Meeks hired Alexander Mitchell as an associate. His experience includes representing institutional lenders in transactions related to office, hotel, retail and multifamily properties. Previously, he was an attorney at Cox, Castle & Nicholson. He is based in Los Angeles.
Kelly Oki joined Fisher Phillips as an associate at the labor and employment firm. Previously, she was a law and policy advisor at King George V School in Hong Kong. She will be based in Los Angeles.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
