Marisa Chun joined Crowell & Moring as a partner in the litigation group in San Francisco. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, consumer class actions and internal and government investigations. Previously, she was partner at McDermott Will & Emery.
Fisher Phillips hired Vincent Adams and Robert Rodriguez as associates. Adams joins in the San Francisco office and Rodriguez joins the Sacramento office. Adams has experience in civil litigation, and represents businesses in employment and insurance matters. Previously, he was at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker. Rodriguez has experience in wage-and-hour class actions, harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination claims. Previously, he was at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart.
Michael Kao joined Cox, Castle & Nicholson as general counsel. He had previously been assistant general counsel at a global strategic advisory and consulting firm. Kao is based in Los Angeles.
Troutman Sanders brought on Kalama Lui-Kwan as a partner in the financial services litigation practice. Previously, Lui-Kwan was a partner at Severson & Werson. He focuses on complex commercial disputes, financial services class actions, compliance matters and regulatory investigations. He is based in San Francisco.
Jean Yu joined Jackson Lewis as principal in the Los Angeles office. Previously, she was a partner at Venable, where she focused on employee benefits, ERISA and corporate transactional matters.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
