Newmeyer & Dillion promoted Bahaar Cadambi to partner. Her practice focuses on business, insurance and real estate litigation. She is based in Newport Beach.
Patricia Conway joined Tyson & Mendes as a partner in its San Francisco office. Her experience includes defense of construction toxic tort, environmental and premises liability actions. Previously, she was a partner at Vasquez Estrada & Conway.
Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger brought on Jen Cornell as a partner. Her experience focuses on representing employers on employment law matters from internal investigations to class action litigation. She is based in San Francisco.
DLA Piper brought on Jeff Diener as a partner in the real estate practice. Diener advises private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, life science and technology clients, lenders, dispositions and financings and other commercial real estate assets. Previously, he was a partner at Paul Hastings. He is based in San Francisco.
Brot & Gross changed its name to Brot Gross Fishbein after Gary Fishbein joined the firm as a partner. Fishbein's family law experience includes dissolution and paternity actions and high-conflict child custody cases. He is based in Los Angeles and was previously a partner at Buter, Buzard, Fishbein & Royce.
White & Case brought on Maia Gez as a partner in the global capital markets practice. Gez represents public companies and boards of directors on corporate law. Previously, she was a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is based in Silicon Valley.
Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek hired Patrick Haase as an associate in the estate planning and administration department. He focuses his practice on estate planning, trust and probate law. Previously, he was an associate at the Law Offices of Arthur S. Brown, and is based in San Diego.
Ann Kim joined Hogan Lovells as a partner in the litigation practice. Her experience includes five years in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, and seven years as senior counsel at the Los Angeles office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She is based in Los Angeles.
Gov. Gavin Newsom appointed Richard Miadich chairman of the California Fair Political Practices Commission. Miadich is managing partner at Olson Hagel & Fishburn, and is based in Sacramento.
Christopher Van Gundy joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a partner on the food and beverage industry team. His experience includes representing food and beverage clients in regards to class actions, commercial disputes and regulatory advice. Previously, he was a partner at Keller and Heckman. He is based in San Francisco.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
