Alvarez & Marsal brought on Robert DeCicco and Jean Chow-Callam as managing directors, and Vishal Oza as senior director. DeCicco specializes in cyber advisory and incident response forensic investigation services. Chow-Callam and Oza will be part of the disputes and investigations practice. Both DeCicco and Oza are based in Los Angeles. Chow-Callum will split time between Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Alston & Bird brought on Greg Christianson as a partner in the environment, land use and natural resources group. He focuses his practice on Superfund cost recovery and allocation matters. Christianson was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
Anthony Arnold joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner in the firm's corporate department. Arnold's practice focuses on corporate and finance, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity. He is based in San Diego.
Ryan Baker was appointed to the Anti-Defamation League's legal advisory committee. Baker will provide legal resources for the ADL's chapter in Los Angeles in regards to discrimination complaints and policy issues. Baker is a partner at Baker Marquart.
Tyson & Mendes promoted Jessica Heppenstall to partner. Previously, she had been senior counsel at the firm since 2013. She focuses her practice on general liability matters and is based in San Diego.
Robert Im joined McGlinchey Stafford as an associate in the commercial litigation practice. Im represents clients in commercial litigation and financial services litigation. He is based in Irvine.
Fisher & Phillips hired Brandon Kahoush as an associate in the San Francisco office. Kahoush's practice focuses on employment litigation. Previously, he was at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck.
Greenberg Gross brought on Deborah Mallgrave as a partner who specializes in complex business disputes. Previously, she was at Snell & Wilmer. She is based in Orange County.
Drinker Biddle & Reath appointed Cheryl Orr as regional partner in charge of the San Francisco office. Orr is a partner and chairwoman of the firm's labor and employment practice group. She succeeds Vernon Zvoleff in that role.
Lewis & Llewellyn brought on Amanda Schwartz to its litigation practice. Previously, she was in Palo Alto at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She is based in San Francisco.
Kate Spelman returned to Jenner & Block as a partner in the firm's complex commercial litigation practice. Most recently, she was in-house counsel for The Wonderful Company. She is based in Los Angeles.
Albert Stemp joined Kirkland & Ellis as a partner in the real estate practice group. Stemp represents clients on real estate transactions such as joint ventures, preferred equity deals and acquisitions. Previously, he was a partner at Proskauer Rose. He is based in Los Angeles.
Ben Wagner joined Troutman Sanders as a partner in the intellectual property practice. Previously Wagner was at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris Glovsky and Popeo. He is based in San Diego.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
