Attorney Derek Zaba joined Sidley Austin's mergers and acquisitions and private equity group as a partner. Based in the firm's Palo Alto office, Zaba will also co-lead Sidley Austin's shareholder activism practice. Zaba will counsel boards and C-suite executives of public companies. He joins from PJT Camberview Partners.

Miller Starr Regalia added former Ropers Majeski Kohn Bentley of counsel Angela J. Yu as a litigation associate. She joins the firm's Walnut Creek office and will handle complex business litigation cases in both federal and state courts.

Daniel Wheeler, a former partner and financial technology practice team leader at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, has been named general counsel of cryptocurrency lending and borrowing company Cred. He will be based in San Francisco. Wheeler has experience representing banks, fintech companies, credit unions and other financial institutions and was a member of the financial services client service group at Bryan Cave.
