David Anderson, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of California, has been named to the U.S. attorney general's advisory committee.

U.S. Attorney General William Barr announced Anderson's addition to the committee alongside eight other newly appointed U.S. attorneys Friday. The committee represents the voice of U.S. attorneys to Main Justice and provides advice and counsel on policy, management and operational issues impacting U.S. attorneys' offices.

Members of the 11-member committee chaired by U.S Attorney Jessie Liu of the District of Columbia visit Washington, D.C., about every six weeks to meet with leaders at DOJ for briefings on department priorities. The members themselves bring a perspective from the field offices to Main Justice.

"I'm grateful to the attorney general and to my teammates here in the Northern District of California," Anderson said. "As the U.S. attorney, I get the recognition. But it is a fact that my AUSAs and staff do the work."

The other committee members announced Friday are Scott Brady of the Western District of Pennsylvania, Maria Chapa Lopez of the Middle District of Florida, Halsey Frank of the District of Maine, Erica MacDonald of the District of Minnesota, Christina Nolan of the District of Vermont, Zach Terwilliger of the Eastern District of Virginia, Tom Kirsch of the Northern District of Indiana, and Nicholas Trutanich of the District of Nevada.
