California’s political watchdog agency has recommended a combined $10,000 in fines against two Alameda County Superior Court judges for failing to file timely campaign disclosures during the 2016 election.

Fair Political Practices Commission staff have proposed a $6,000 penalty against Judge Scott Jackson and $4,000 fine against Judge Jennifer Madden. Both were elected to the Alameda County bench in 2016, and both employed the same treasurer to handle disclosure paperwork for their campaigns’ donations and expenditures.
