Eight lawyers were elected to partnership at Jenner & Block, including Christopher S. Lindsay in the firm's Los Angeles office. Lindsay is part of Jenner & Block's litigation department and content, media and entertainment practice. He represents clients in disputes raising copyright, trade secret, defamation, privacy and publicity right, contract and business tort issues and also advises technology companies.

Fisher & Phillips promoted four California attorneys to partner. Juan Araneda, formerly of counsel, is based in San Francisco; Chris Conti, formerly an associate, is based in San Diego. Ben Ebbink, formerly of counsel, is based in Sacramento; and Ryan Wheeler, formerly of counsel, is based in Irvine. All four attorneys practice labor and employment law.

Three California-based Meyers Nave Riback Silver & Wilson lawyers—Kristopher Kokotaylo, Jenny Riggs and Shiraz Tangri—became principal with the start of the new year. Kokotaylo works in the firm's Oakland office as part of the municipal and special district law practice group. Riggs works in the firm's trial and litigation practice group, and Tangri works in the firm's land use and environmental law practice group. Both Riggs and Tangri are based in Los Angeles.
