Locke Lord announced a round of elections within its board of directors, including Nina Huerta, managing partner of the firm's Los Angeles office. Huerta is newly elected to the board, where she will serve as co-chair. She is a member of the firm's labor and employment practice group, as well as a member of the diversity and inclusion and law school recruiting coordinating committees.

Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart's Lyne Richardson was promoted to managing shareholder of the firm's Torrance office, where she will work to grow Ogletree's California presence. Richardson focuses her practice on labor and employment law, representing companies and management in sexual harassment, discrimination, wage and hour, breach of contract and Americans With Disabilities Act matters.

David W. Gouzoules, formerly a senior associate at Alston & Bird, joined Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek's litigation department. His experience includes commercial litigation, government investigations and shareholder causes of action. Gouzoules works in the firm's San Diego headquarters.

Beverly Hills-based talent and entertainment company United Talent Agency promoted former associate general counsel Michael Sinclair to general counsel. Sinclair began working for UTA in 2012, moving in-house from Glaser Weil Fink Howard Avchen & Shapiro. As general counsel, he will oversee the company's legal team and legal, regulatory and compliance strategies.

Former California deputy attorney general III Eric M. Fox joined Finch, Thornton & Baird in Los Angeles. He will work in the firm's labor and employment practice, where he will handle wage and hour litigation, discrimination and harassment litigation, and counseling and policy review. He represents general contractors and subcontractors, manufacturers and local small businesses in the construction industry.

Bailey Glasser is opening an office in Oakland, marking the firm's first expansion into California. The new office will serve as the firm's West Coast headquarters. Of counsel Arthur H. Bryant and partner Todd A. Walburg will lead the office, which will primarily handle litigation. It is slated to open in the spring.

Andrew Thorpe left Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was partner, for Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo. He joins as a member in the firm's corporate group in San Francisco. He represents clients in matters related to securities regulation, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.

Baker McKenzie's mergers and acquisitions practice grew with the additions of Lisa Fontenot and Derek Liu as partners. Fontenot is based in Palo Alto and Joins from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She focuses her practice on M&A, capital markets, securities regulation and corporate governance matters. Liu is based in San Francisco and joins from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He focuses his practice on M&A and other complex corporate transactions.
