Haynes and Boone announced that it is creating a precision medicine and digital health practice group focused on clients working with precision medicine, digital health, medical devices and 3D printing/bioprinting technologies, with new hires Roger Kuan and Jason Novak heading the effort. The duo join the firm's San Francisco office as partners from McDermott Will & Emery. Kuan, who will chair the new practice group, counsels life sciences clients on strategic intellectual property. Novak handles IP counseling, diligence, procurement, licensing, transactions and portfolio management.

Alison Watkins, a litigator and counselor focused on compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, joined Perkins Coie. She will serve as a partner in the firm's litigation and privacy and security practices in Palo Alto. She was previously with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Palo Alto-based Frank Rahmani joined Sidley Austin as a partner in the firm's corporate practice. Before the move, Rahmani was with Cooley. He focuses on emerging companies and capital markets, handling financings, mergers and acquisitions, tech transactions and initial public offerings.

Antonyan Miranda, based in San Diego, brought on John Melvin as a senior associate attorney. Melvin litigates high-value trusts and estates matters. Prior to the move, he was with Frisella Neilson.
