Alston & Bird brought on John Redding as a partner in Los Angeles. Redding focuses his practice on consumer finance investigative, regulatory and enforcement actions, representing clients such as banks, auto finance companies, private equity firms and investors. He previously was a partner at Buckley LLP, a financial services boutique.

Zeb Zankel, an attorney who handles regulatory, litigation and transactional cases on behalf of communications service providers, is now a partner at Jenner & Block. He joins the firm's Los Angeles office from Davis Wright Tremaine, according to LinkedIn. Zankel will practice in Jenner & Block's communications, internet and technology practice.

Khan Law Office founder Amman Khan left his firm to join Withers as partner alongside associate John Dillon, who also joins from Khan Law. Khan focuses his practice on high-stakes civil, commercial and trust litigation. He will work in the firm's Los Angeles office.

James A. Baker left his position as director of national security and cybersecurity at The R Street Institute in Washington, D.C., to join Twitter Inc. He will serve as the San Francisco-based company's deputy general counsel. Baker's past experience also includes a stint as general counsel for the FBI.
