Amazon wasn't able to shake Williams-Sonoma Inc.'s trademark claims in the early stages of litigation. And now it's going to be stuck with a copyright infringement claim awhile longer too.

On Monday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Alex Tse of the Northern District of California denied Amazon's motion to dismiss, saying that Amazon's software for selecting photographs on its product detail pages—if it operates as WSI alleges—is sufficiently life-like to state a claim for direct copyright infringement.
