The risks Oracle Corp. faced at trial late last year were huge–both in terms of reputational risk and dollar figures.

Lawyers at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs alleged that the enterprise software giant had policies and practices that led to “widespread” compensation and assignment discrimination against female, Asian and Black employees spread accross product development, information technology and support roles. The OFCCP lawyers were seeking nine-figures in potential damages from Oracle.
