Uber drivers are claiming the ride-hailing company is violating civil rights and labor laws in two lawsuits in California federal court.

Uber’s Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher attorneys removed the first lawsuit to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Monday. In that class action complaint surfaced by Legal Radar, Uber is accused of forcing California drivers to support Proposition 22. The November ballot initiative would exempt ride-hailing drivers from the state’s AB 5 law, which dictates the test employers must use to classify workers as employees.
