Update: Late Friday Gov. Gavin Newsom named Contra Costa County Superior Court Judge Linda Lye deputy secretary for law enforcement and general counsel at the California Environmental Protection Agency starting in January. Lye was appointed to the Contra Costa court in 2018 and previously served as senior staff attorney at the ACLU Foundation of Northern California. The one-time clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg worked for eight years at Altshuler Berzon.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has selected two Bay Area litigators to join the San Francisco County Superior Court, his office announced Friday.
